A not so exciting reply to my Higher Education application !

"When His presence cannot be seen, it is dangerous to move ahead." - Streams in the Desert. January 14

So I sent  my college application through the Universities/Colleges Admissions Service  (UCAS)  and waited for a reply.  To my non-UK friends, UCAS is a clearing house for applications to almost all full-time undergraduate degree programmes at British universities and colleges.
This week, I received a reply.  According to the university, my UCAS points are not sufficient enough to get me into the three-year BA degree I was aiming for and they suggested I take the prerequisites for the course.  It means I may need a year to complete those prerequisites before I could begin with the three-year full time course.

So what to draw from this? It's simply a clear answer to prayers. I won't be studying full-time for this school year 2012-13. Part-time? Maybe. I will have to continue praying about it. I've already missed the January enrolment for part-time courses so there are yet seven months left for the September enrolment. I'm adamant though that for financial reasons, it won't be in London.

"Whatever awaits us is encountered first by Him, and the eye of faith can always discern His majestic presence out in front". It would not be in our best interest to always remain in one happy and comfortable location. Therefore He moves us forward."

But take heart! It could never be better to stay once He determines otherwise; if the loving hand of our Lord moves us forward, it must be best. Forward, in His name, to green pastures, quiet waters, and mountain heights! (See Ps. 23:2.) “He goes on ahead of [us].”  Streams in the Desert. January 14

So Here Begins My Devotional Blog in 2012

January 2012

I started my yearly Bible reading plan by continuing reading from where I left off in December - the Book of Deuteronomy. Somehow three phrases kept coming up as I read through the book: "Be strong", "Do not be afraid", "God is before you/ He will fight for you". Could these scriptures be telling me something?

In June last year, God started impressing in my heart a new direction to follow- to go back to College/ University to retrain.  I've started praying about it since and now still waiting for God's go signal.  It's a big step to take as it means getting out of my comfort zone and treading onto a new path.

So back to the scriptures, could they be telling me something or am I just taking them to suit my current need?

1:29 “Then I said to you, ‘Do not be terrified, or afraid of them. 30 The LORD your God, who goes before you, He will fight for you...

31:6 Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”
